Chelsea suffered the second defeat of their pre-season tour as Serie A side Juventus ran out 1-0 winners at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, Softfootball reports.
A second-half strike from Edon Zhegrova was enough for the Serie A side in a game that lacked any real quality – aside from the finish for the goal.
The Blues dominated possession, but Juventus had the better of the opportunities. The Italian side forced Robert Sanchez into a number of decent first-half saves before eventually finding the breakthrough in the second half.
Zhegrova curled in a brilliant effort from outside the box into the top corner, leaving substitute goalkeeper Mike Penders with no chance of saving it. Alonso’s side beat Western Sydney Wanderers 6-4 before a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last week.
