New AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim has admitted that the challenge of rebuilding the Italian giants is even greater than the one he faced during his time at Manchester United.

Speaking after arriving in Milan to complete the formalities of his appointment, the Portuguese tactician revealed that he initially planned to take on a less demanding project following his departure from Old Trafford. However, the opportunity to manage one of Europe’s most historic clubs proved too significant to ignore.

Amorim explained that AC Milan’s rich history, passionate supporters, and high expectations make the role one of the biggest challenges of his coaching career. He acknowledged that returning the Rossoneri to the top of Italian and European football will require patience, hard work, and unity from everyone connected to the club.

The former Sporting CP coach also stressed that he is fully committed to the long-term project and is eager to build a competitive team capable of challenging for major trophies. He believes Milan possesses a strong foundation, talented players, and the ambition needed to compete with Europe’s elite once again.

Amorim added that every major club comes with pressure, but he embraces the responsibility and sees it as motivation to succeed. He expressed confidence that, with the support of the fans, players, and club management, AC Milan can return to the level expected of a club with such a proud tradition.

The Portuguese manager now turns his attention to pre-season preparations, where he hopes to instill his football philosophy and lay the groundwork for a successful campaign.
