Chelsea began their pre-season campaign under new head coach Xabi Alonso with an entertaining 6-4 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium. The Blues showed attacking quality throughout the match, with young talents making their mark before experienced first-team players sealed the win.

Dastan Satpayev opened the scoring early before Dario Essugo levelled after Wanderers had turned the game around. Western Sydney briefly regained the lead after the break, but Chelsea’s senior players changed the momentum. Jamie Gittens scored before João Pedro delivered a stunning nine-minute hat-trick to secure victory.
