Paris Saint-Germain have been left furious after Real Madrid moved ahead in the race to sign Yan Diomandé.

Earlier in July, Softfootball reported that Rodri was viewed as an attainable target for Real Madrid and that the midfielder was keen on a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

The French champions believed the deal was virtually complete after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the RB Leipzig winger several weeks ago. However, Real Madrid’s late intervention has dramatically changed the situation, with the Spanish giants now leading negotiations.

In response, PSG have shifted their focus towards Rodri, entering the race for the Manchester City midfielder in an attempt to make any potential move to Real Madrid significantly more difficult and expensive.

Softfootball understands Real Madrid remain actively engaged in plans to sign the Spain captain this summer, with the club continuing to monitor his situation despite no formal negotiations with Manchester City having taken place.

With PSG now targeting Rodri while continuing to fight for Diomandé, the rivalry between the two European giants is intensifying as they battle over two of the most sought-after players in the transfer market.
