Manchester City winger Savinho has urged his teammates to quickly move on from their disappointing 5-1 defeat against Arsenal and focus on improving in their upcoming matches.

City suffered one of their heaviest defeats of the season at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, with Arsenal scoring five times after Martin Ødegaard opened the scoring early in the game.

Speaking after the match, Softfootball reports that Savinho admitted the result was difficult to accept but insisted that the team must remain focused and use the setback as motivation.

The Brazilian said:

It’s a really tough result to take today

It’s a really hard scoreline to accept and one that we can’t go home accepting.

Erling Haaland briefly brought City level after the break, but Thomas Partey restored Arsenal’s lead before Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri completed the rout.

Savinho believes City have enough quality to respond, pointing out that the team regularly has opportunities to correct mistakes.

The winger called on his teammates to lift their heads, show their quality and produce a stronger response in their next fixtures.
