Brighton & Hove Albion manager Fabian Hurzeler has admitted that his side face a major challenge when they take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Hurzeler praised Forest’s impressive performances this season and highlighted their ability to defend well, remain disciplined and punish opponents on the counter-attack.

Softfootball reports that the Brighton boss believes Forest have shown the maturity required to compete against the Premier League’s strongest teams. Hurzeler said:

They know how to win games, they play very maturely. They have done this very well this season..

The German coach recalled Brighton’s previous meeting with Forest, saying his team had controlled much of the game but were punished by their opponents’ ability to score quickly.

Hurzeler believes Forest’s greatest strength is their effectiveness during transitions.

That’s the biggest strength – they’re very good in transition. They defend in a very disciplined way,

he added.

The Brighton manager also admitted that his team still have work to do before they can compete consistently at the same level as Forest.

He insisted that Brighton must identify their weaknesses and find solutions if they are to challenge for a higher position in the Premier League in the future.
