Manchester United have continued discussions with Italian club Lecce over a possible deal for highly-rated left-back Patrick Dorgu.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that United have not abandoned their pursuit of the Denmark international despite Lecce rejecting previous proposals. Softfootball understands the Red Devils are working to reach an agreement as they look to strengthen their left-back options before the window closes.
Lecce are reportedly demanding around €40 million for Dorgu or could decide to keep the youngster until the end of the season.
United previously submitted an offer worth around €25 million plus bonuses, but the bid was turned down by the Italian side.
The Premier League giants are also exploring alternatives, including a possible return for Álvaro Fernández, who is currently with Benfica.
The club hopes to complete the signing of either Dorgu or Fernández before the transfer deadline as manager Ruben Amorim looks to improve his squad.
