Nigeria international Moses Simon scored for Nantes as they played out a 1-1 draw away to Saint-Etienne in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Simon opened the scoring after just 14 minutes, giving Nantes an early advantage at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

However, the hosts eventually found an equaliser through Augustine Boakye, who scored in the 86th minute to ensure both teams shared the points.

The result means neither side could move away from the relegation battle, with Nantes sitting 15th in the league standings and Saint-Etienne occupying 16th place.

Both clubs have collected 17 points from their respective matches and remain in danger of being dragged deeper into the fight for survival.

Simon will now hope to maintain his impressive form as Nantes continue their battle to secure their Ligue 1 status.
