David Moyes has agreed to return as Everton manager following the dismissal of Sean Dyche earlier in the week.
The experienced Scot is set for a second spell at Goodison Park after holding positive discussions with the club’s hierarchy, with an agreement reportedly reached on a deal running until 2027.
Dyche was relieved of his duties after Everton managed just one victory in their last 11 matches, leaving the club searching for stability.
Softfootball understands the club’s new owners, The Friedkin Group, identified Moyes as their preferred candidate because of his experience and strong understanding of Everton’s culture and expectations.
Moyes previously managed Everton between 2002 and 2013, guiding the Merseyside club to several top-half Premier League finishes and European qualification before leaving to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
His immediate priority will be steering Everton away from the relegation battle while preparing the team for the club’s planned move to the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium in the near future.
