President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Ademola Lookman, Chiamaka Nnadozie and the Super Falcons following their recognition at the 2024 CAF Awards, Softfootball reports.
Lookman was named the 2024 CAF Men’s African Footballer of the Year after an outstanding season, while Super Falcons goalkeeper Nnadozie claimed the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award. Nigeria’s senior women’s national team was also honoured as the Women’s National Team of the Year.
The awards ceremony took place at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco, where Africa’s football stars were celebrated for their achievements.
President Tinubu praised the players as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria, stating that their performances have brought pride and honour to the country on both the continental and global stage.
He described their success as a reflection of determination, discipline and confidence, adding that their achievements would motivate young Nigerian athletes to continue pursuing their dreams.
Tinubu also highlighted the importance of their accomplishments in showcasing the positive qualities of Nigerians, thanking the players for representing the nation with distinction.
The President expressed confidence that Lookman, Nnadozie and the Super Falcons will continue to achieve more success and bring further glory to Nigeria in future competitions.
