Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has called on supporters to start dreaming about a genuine Premier League title challenge, with the Blues sitting just seven points off leaders Liverpool.
Chelsea currently occupy a top-four spot under Enzo Maresca, and their recent form has fuelled growing belief around the club that silverware could be within reach this season.
Softfootball understands Madueke addressed the club’s ambitions in an interview with Chelsea’s official website. He said:
Of course, we are up for it. Whether we are in it or not is a different question. However, we are taking every game as it comes.
The winger was careful not to get carried away, stressing that the squad’s focus remains on their own performances rather than the table. He added:
We won 5-1 at Southampton and in the dressing room we are very happy with that, but we also know that we can be a lot better. It’s focusing on us, focusing on training and trying to improve.
Chelsea will be hoping that steady approach continues to pay off as the season progresses.
