Victor Osimhen has made clear his ambition to help Galatasaray lift the UEFA Europa League this season, after continuing his fine European form in a 1-1 draw away to AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night.

The result kept the Turkish champions unbeaten in the competition so far. Softfootball understands that Osimhen was once again among the goals, having now netted three times in his last two Europa League appearances for the club.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen made his intentions known:

I said I would score a goal, I did. I make another promise: I will bring the UEFA cup to Turkey.

It’s a bold statement from a player who has quickly established himself as Galatasaray’s talisman since arriving from Napoli.

He also reflected on the draw itself, acknowledging the physical toll of a congested fixture list:

It feels good to score a goal. We left with one point. We will continue. We may be a little tired mentally, we had a match four days ago. Our team’s performance was good. We remain unbeaten in Europe.
