Manchester United couldn’t find a way past Ipswich Town, settling for a 1-1 draw in Rúben Amorim’s first match in charge on Sunday.
Marcus Rashford gave United the perfect start, stealing in between two defenders just 81 seconds in to finish off a brilliant run from Amad down the right flank.
Softfootball reports that Ipswich responded before the break. Omari Hutchinson curled a shot into the top corner in the 43rd minute, with a deflection off Noussair Mazraoui making things worse for United keeper André Onana, who had earlier produced a superb one-handed save to deny Liam Delap a certain goal.
The second half offered chances but no breakthrough for either side. Ipswich striker Sam Szmodics nearly caught Onana out with a clever back-heel, but the keeper reacted quickly to save with his feet, keeping the scoreline level.
The result leaves United in 12th place on 16 points, six adrift of the top four, while Ipswich sit 18th with nine, still searching for their own consistency.
