Manchester City have officially completed the signing of highly rated winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester City in a deal worth up to £10 million.
The 17-year-old England U19 international has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031, ending months of speculation over his future.
Softfootball previously reported that City had entered active negotiations to hijack Arsenal’s proposed move for the teenage sensation after the Gunners were widely believed to be leading the race with a deal worth around £10 million. Manchester City have now successfully secured the youngster’s signature.
Monga, who was born in 2009 and is of Zambian heritage, has already made history by becoming one of the youngest players to appear in the Premier League, making his Leicester debut at just 15 years of age. He went on to make 37 senior appearances for the Foxes, earning widespread praise for his pace, dribbling ability and fearless attacking style.

City’s pursuit was strengthened by the arrival of manager Enzo Maresca, who already knew Monga well from his previous spell at Leicester and viewed the youngster as one of English football’s most exciting prospects.
The transfer further underlines Manchester City’s commitment to recruiting elite young talent before they reach their peak. By beating Arsenal to Monga’s signature, the Premier League champions have secured another player regarded as capable of becoming a future first-team star.
Monga is expected to continue his development within City’s elite academy and first-team environment as the club prepares him for the next stage of his promising career.
