Juventus are weighing up a January loan move for Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell, as the Italian side look to plug defensive gaps left by a string of serious injuries within their squad.

Softfootball understands the interest stems from long-term ACL injuries to both Juan Cabal and Bremer, leaving Juventus short at left-back and centre-half heading into the new year.

With significant money already committed to summer signings Teun Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz, the club has limited room in the transfer budget, pushing them toward loan options rather than permanent deals to address the shortfall.

Chilwell isn’t the only defender being considered, with names like Milan Skriniar, Jakub Kiwior, and Radu Dragusin also linked to Juventus for central defensive cover.

The Chelsea full-back has fallen well outside Enzo Maresca’s plans this season, managing just 45 minutes of action in the EFL Cup and failing to make a single Premier League squad throughout the entire 2024-25 campaign.

Reports suggest Chelsea could be open to a straightforward loan without an obligation to buy, potentially even contributing toward Chilwell’s wages to facilitate a move.

Any deal is expected to cost Juventus in the region of €5 million through wages and bonuses for the remainder of the season.
