Lookman flew back to Italy on Saturday for further treatment at Atalanta’s request, joining Ola Aina and Stanley Nwabali on the growing list of absentees for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium fixture.
Aina picked up a minor injury in the same game against Benin, while Nwabali was granted compassionate leave following the death of his father.
Despite the depleted attack, head coach Augustine Eguavoen still has 20 players available for selection for Monday’s matchday six encounter in Uyo; enough depth in the squad to manage without three key names on the night, with Nigeria already through to the finals in Morocco regardless of the result.
