Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes Chelsea winger Pedro Neto has all the qualities to become one of the Premier League’s most dangerous wide players, but insists the Portuguese international needs to show more confidence in one-on-one situations.
Softfootball understands that Neville made the remarks after Neto’s impressive display in Chelsea’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, where the winger scored the Blues’ equaliser in the 70th minute.
The former England international praised Neto’s pace, skill and overall quality, but suggested the Chelsea star often misses opportunities to attack defenders more aggressively.
Neville believes the 24-year-old has the ability to intimidate opposition full-backs consistently if he backs himself more frequently instead of choosing the safer passing option.
The Sky Sports pundit added that Neto possesses all the attributes required to become a feared attacking winger and expects him to grow into an even more influential player as he settles further into life at Chelsea.
