Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare believes KRC Genk have what it takes to win the Belgian Pro League title this season following the club’s impressive start to the campaign, softfootball reports.

Genk currently sit comfortably at the top of the league table with 31 points from 13 matches, holding a seven-point advantage over reigning champions Club Brugge.

Despite the commanding lead, Arokodare has urged his teammates to remain focused and disciplined, insisting it is still too early to talk about winning the title.

“If we can continue to win matches like this, then of course we want to become champions, but it is still far too early to say. We just have to remain disciplined,” the Nigerian forward said.

Arokodare also praised the collective effort of the team after their recent victory over Antwerp, highlighting the contribution of every member of the squad.

“We were all fantastic against Antwerp, from the goalkeeper to the players on the bench and the coaches,” he added.

Genk’s strong performances have seen them emerge as autumn champions in Belgium, but Arokodare believes the achievement is only a reflection of their current form rather than a guarantee of success.

“It doesn’t really mean much. It just means that we are doing well,” said the Belgian Pro League’s leading scorer, who has also attracted interest from the Super Eagles.

The in-form striker stressed that maintaining consistency will be crucial if Genk are to sustain their title challenge throughout the season.

Arokodare has been one of Genk’s standout performers this campaign, with his goals playing a vital role in the club’s rise to the top of the standings. He will be hoping to continue his fine scoring form as Genk look to maintain their lead and challenge for the Belgian league crown.
