Former Manchester United winger Nani has expressed confidence in Ruben Amorim’s ability to lead the Red Devils back to success, Softfootball reports.

Amorim was appointed as Manchester United’s new head coach following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag, who left the club after a disappointing run of results in the Premier League.

The Portuguese tactician arrives at Old Trafford after an impressive spell with Sporting CP, where he guided the club to major domestic success and established himself as one of Europe’s most highly-rated young managers.

Nani believes his compatriot has all the qualities needed to succeed at Manchester United and is confident he can bring out the best in the squad.

The former Portugal international said Amorim is joining one of the biggest clubs in world football with a talented group of players capable of competing at the highest level.

According to Nani, Amorim’s achievements at Sporting prove he has the credentials to thrive under the pressure that comes with managing Manchester United.

The 39-year-old also wished Amorim success in his new role, expressing hope that he can replicate the outstanding work he did in Portugal and help restore the club’s winning tradition.

Amorim is expected to officially begin work at Old Trafford after completing his commitments with Sporting CP, with Ruud van Nistelrooy continuing as interim manager until then.
