Nigeria Premier Football League side Lobi Stars have strengthened their technical crew with the appointment of Finnish tactician Mika Lönnström as their new head coach, Softfootball reports.
The Makurdi-based club confirmed the appointment on Saturday, adding another experienced coach to their technical setup as they look to improve their fortunes this season.

Lönnström, 50, will work alongside technical adviser Daniel Amokachi in managing the team. The Finnish coach, who previously served as an assistant coach of Thailand’s U-16 national team, has already joined the squad and took part in the club’s training session on Saturday.
His arrival comes at a crucial time for the Pride of Benue, who are currently in Ikenne ahead of their Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 10 clash against Remo Stars.
Lobi Stars have endured a difficult start to the 2024/25 NPFL campaign, recording just two victories from their opening nine matches. The Benue club currently sits 17th on the league table with nine points and will be hoping the addition of Lönnström to the coaching staff helps turn their season around.
