Brentford have reached an agreement in principle with Burnley for the signing of winger Jaidon Anthony in a deal worth £17 million plus a further £3 million in add-ons.

Softfootball understands that the 25-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Premier League club, with the remaining formalities set to be completed in the coming days.

The agreement follows earlier reports that Brentford had emerged as the frontrunners in the race for Anthony after opening talks with Burnley over a permanent transfer. Those negotiations have now progressed to an agreement, bringing the winger closer to a move to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Anthony has built a reputation as a direct and energetic wide player capable of creating chances and stretching opposition defences. Brentford believe his qualities will strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for the new Premier League season.

The transfer also reflects Brentford’s well-established recruitment strategy of identifying high-value talent from the Championship and helping players make a successful transition to the top flight. The club has consistently used this approach to strengthen its squad while maintaining financial sustainability.

Once the deal is completed, Anthony will become another key addition to Brentford’s evolving squad as the Bees continue to invest in players with both immediate impact and long-term potential.
