Liverpool’s hopes of signing highly rated winger Yan Diomandé have taken a significant hit after reports revealed the 19-year-old has chosen Paris Saint-Germain as his preferred destination should he leave RB Leipzig this summer.
Despite Liverpool’s determination, the Merseyside club has now stepped away from negotiations after learning that Diomandé’s preference is a move to the reigning European champions.
According to reports reaching Softfootball, the teenager has already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with PSG, leaving the French giants to finalise an agreement with Leipzig before the transfer can be completed.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has reportedly opened direct negotiations with the German club and remains confident a deal can be reached, with the French champions eager to add another elite young talent to their long-term project.

The development represents a major setback for Liverpool, who identified Diomandé as one of their priority attacking targets after seeing their record-breaking €100 million proposal rejected earlier this summer.
With the player now committed to PSG’s sporting project, the focus shifts to club-to-club negotiations as the Ligue 1 champions work to complete one of the summer’s biggest transfer deals.
