Former Manchester United assistant coach Benni McCarthy has questioned the kind of support system around Marcus Rashford.
Softfootball added that McCarthy believes Rashford is a special player and a good person, but may not have enough people around him who are honest and direct.
The former South Africa striker suggested that Rashford has been surrounded by people who often tell him what he wants to hear because of his status as a Manchester United star.

Speaking with Supersport, McCarthy described Rashford as a pure-hearted person who deeply loves Manchester United.
He explained that he always spoke honestly with the England forward and believed Rashford respected that approach.
According to McCarthy, he never tried to flatter Rashford or tell him things just to please him. Instead, he chose to be direct and truthful whenever they spoke.
McCarthy said that honesty may have been one of the reasons Rashford trusted him and came to him for advice on different issues.
The former United coach also revealed that he and Rashford still keep in touch through messages.
Rashford has faced criticism in recent seasons over his form and consistency, but McCarthy’s comments suggest he still believes the forward has strong qualities both as a player and as a person.
For McCarthy, Rashford’s talent is not in doubt. However, he believes having more honest voices around him could help the Manchester United forward make better decisions and return to his best level.
