Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri has revealed that Lamine Yamal is fully locked in on his World Cup preparation so focused, in fact, that he even skipped a planned team dinner to continue working ahead of the tournament.

Rodri shared the moment while speaking to the media:

The other day, Lamine told me he wasn’t coming to dinner because he had to prepare for the World Cup. He’s very ‘focused’, I see him in perfect form.

Yamal, who had been doubted to even make Spain’s 2026 World Cup squad after suffering an injury toward the end of the 2025/26 season, has now returned to regular team training. Softfootball understands this is very good news for Spain manager Luis de la Fuente, who sees Yamal as a key creative force in Spain’s attack.
