Aston Villa is pleased to announce the addition of a domestic friendly match against Real Sociedad to the club’s pre-season schedule.
The preparations come after a memorable campaign in which Villa secured their first major European trophy in decades, defeating SC Freiburg 3-0 in the Europa League final to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The club also recently unveiled their new 2026/27 home kit, featuring a classic 1960s-inspired design as excitement continues to build ahead of another historic season at Villa Park.
The match will take place on July 25 at Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm as Villa continue their preparations for the 2026/27 season.
The fixture becomes the latest addition to a busy summer schedule for Unai Emery and his squad. Villa had already confirmed friendlies against Walsall on July 21 and Borussia Monchengladbach on August 15, alongside a high-profile meeting with Bayern Munich in Hong Kong on August 7.
With Champions League football and the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain also on the horizon, Villa’s expanded pre-season schedule will provide valuable preparation for what promises to be a demanding campaign.
