Ghana Face Tough AFCON Under-17 Draw in Morocco

The Ghana national under-17 football team have been handed a challenging draw for the upcoming Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, set to take place in Morocco from May 13 to June 2, 2026, Softfootball reports.

According to the Ghana Football Association official x handle, Ghana will compete in Group D alongside Algeria national under-17 football team, Senegal national under-17 football team, and South Africa national under-17 football team in what promises to be one of the most competitive groups of the tournament.

🚨 #BlackStarlets will begin the 2026 U-17 AFCON campaign against Algeria on 14th May, followed by a clash with Senegal on 17th May, before facing South Africa on 20th May. 📌🇬🇭

The Black Starlets will begin their campaign against Algeria on May 14 at 19:00 GMT, before facing Senegal on May 17 at 16:00 GMT. They will conclude the group stage against South Africa on May 20 at 19:00 GMT.

Beyond continental glory, the stakes are high, as the tournament also serves as qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The eight quarter-finalists will automatically qualify, alongside the two best third-placed teams, ensuring Africa has ten representatives.
