Softfootball can confirm Enrique Cerezo has firmly dismissed speculation surrounding Julián Álvarez’s future, insisting the forward remains committed to Atlético Madrid.
Atlético have maintained a clear stance despite links to FC Barcelona, with director Mateu Alemany also denying any ongoing negotiations for the Argentine forward.
Barcelona are exploring attacking options ahead of the summer, with Victor Osimhen considered an alternative target if a move for Álvarez does not materialise. However, financial concerns remain due to the striker’s high wage demands and expected transfer fee.
According to Fabrizio Romano via his x handle he confirmed this comment saying:
Atlético president Cerezo: I’m going to explain it to you very clearly, and you’re smart and you’re going to understand it. I’m going to explain it to you in three words: Alvarez has a contract with Atlético Madrid.
Atlético’s position remains unchanged, with the club determined to retain Álvarez as part of their long-term plans.
