Barcelona currently consider their incoming transfer business closed following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, with the club not planning to make further additions at this stage.
The Brazilian forward has become the latest attacking reinforcement for Hansi Flick’s side, with Barcelona believing their squad now has enough quality and depth to compete across all competitions this season.
Softfootball added that Barcelona’s focus will now shift towards managing the squad they have assembled, while the club could still remain active on the outgoing side before the transfer window closes.
The Catalan giants have already invested heavily in strengthening their squad, with Gabriel Jesus adding experience, versatility and another option in the final third. His ability to operate across the frontline is expected to give Flick greater flexibility when rotating his attacking players.
Barcelona’s decision to close their incoming business also suggests that the club are satisfied with the balance of the squad following their summer recruitment. Attention can now turn towards the start of the campaign and integrating the new arrivals into Flick’s system.
The move for Jesus was completed after Barcelona reached an agreement with Arsenal over a €10 million transfer fee, bringing the experienced forward to Camp Nou.
With the agreement now completed, Barcelona are expected to concentrate on preparing for the new season rather than pursuing additional incoming deals. Unless circumstances change before the deadline, Gabriel Jesus could therefore be the final major addition to Flick’s squad this summer.
