Éder Militão has taken a major step toward his return after resuming training with the Real Madrid squad.

Softfootball earlier reported Militão has been out of action for over three months after suffering a serious muscle injury in December 2025.

The centre-back was forced off in the 24th minute during Real Madrid’s shock 2–0 home defeat to Celta Vigo, with Antonio Rüdiger coming on as his replacement.

The development was confirmed by football journalist Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, with the Brazilian defender now closing in on a full recovery following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

he stated:

His absence has been part of a wider injury crisis that has significantly impacted Madrid this season, particularly in defence, leaving the squad stretched across multiple competitions.

However, his return to training now offers a timely boost for manager Álvaro Arbeloa and his staff ahead of a crucial period.

Real Madrid are set to face FC Bayern Munich twice within ten days in the UEFA Champions League, and Militão’s potential return after the international break could prove vital in strengthening the team’s defensive options.
