FC Bayern Munich through their official X handle confirmed that veteran goalkeeper Sven Ulreich suffered a right adductor muscle tear during their 1–1 Bundesliga draw with Bayer 04 Leverkusen on March 14, 2026.

The injury occurred in a dramatic match where Bayern finished the game with nine men, highlighting the intensity of the contest. Ulreich’s setback has further complicated the club’s goalkeeping situation at a crucial stage of the season.

They reported:

Sven Ulreich sidelined for the time being. Ulreich suffered a muscle tear in his right adductor during the Bundesliga away match on Saturday against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Speedy recovery, Ulle!

As previously reported by Softfootball, first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is currently sidelined with a calf tear, while keeper Jonas Urbig is also unavailable due to injury. As a result, Bayern may now have to rely on younger and relatively untested options, including youth prospect Leon Prescott, for upcoming fixtures.

The situation has raised concerns among supporters, with many fans expressing frustration on social media about the growing injury list within the squad. The timing of the crisis is particularly worrying as Bayern continue their pursuit of the Bundesliga title while also competing in the UEFA Champions League.
