Michael Carrick has received widespread praise for his impact as interim head coach of Manchester United, with the former midfielder helping spark renewed belief at Old Trafford.

Carrick has also been quick to highlight the development of players he has worked with, including Morgan Rogers as reported by fabrizo Romano via their x handle, who is now shining at Aston Villa.

Carrick said it was “fantastic” to see Rogers take huge steps in his career and become an important figure for both club and country, even revealing he once reminded the forward that just a year ago he was coming off the bench against Cardiff.

Romano reported;

Michael Carrick: “It’s fantastic for me to see Morgan Rogers going on to do so well”.

“He’s taking huge steps and quickly and being a major, major part of their team and part of the England team as well. It just shows how well he’s done”.

Carrick stressed that while the comeback showed belief and personality, one match does not make a great team and the squad must stay focused.

Softfootball reported that the turnaround under Carrick has reignited optimism around Manchester United, with the club climbing to third place in the Premier League and emerging as serious contenders heading into the final stretch of the 2025/26 season.
