Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi did not honour the invitation for the Unity Cup after sustaining a knock in Beşiktaş’s final game of the season.

Softfootball gathered that Ndidi personally communicated with head coach Eric Chelle and the team’s Strength and Conditioning coach, updating them on his condition and confirming he would be unavailable for the tournament.
Since then, the midfielder has been working intensely in the gym with his personal trainer as part of his recovery programme. His progress has been encouraging, and he remains fully focused on regaining complete match fitness.
Barring any setbacks, Ndidi is expected to be fit and available for Nigeria’s June international window fixtures against Poland and Portugal. His return would be a major boost for the Super Eagles as they prepare for two important matches.
