Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has promised his side will approach Wednesday’s Premier League showdown against Liverpool with an attacking mindset.
The Magpies welcome the league leaders to St James’ Park knowing a victory could boost their hopes of climbing into the top half of the table, depending on other results.

“What a week they have had. They are a team playing with full confidence at the moment,” Howe said.
“There is an excitement about the game and to attack a game like this will be brilliant.
“We have to bring our strengths because they are unique to us.
“We have some outstanding attacking players, and we need to give them the freedom to play and get their confidence back.”
Liverpool have enjoyed the upper hand in recent meetings between the two clubs, but Howe dismissed suggestions that Newcastle have a psychological barrier against the Reds.
Instead, he believes every encounter presents a fresh challenge, adding that previous meetings—particularly last season’s painful defeat—have provided valuable lessons.
With Liverpool looking to extend their lead at the top and Newcastle desperate to reignite their European push, Wednesday’s clash promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the Premier League round.
