Former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has called on the club to remain patient with Mikel Arteta’s project, insisting that long-term progress should not be measured only by the number of trophies won.
Arsenal have established themselves as serious Premier League title contenders under Arteta and continue to compete at the highest level. However, the team is under pressure to turn its impressive progress into major silverware.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Newcastle United, Walcott, according to Softfootball, said supporters should appreciate how far the club has come while allowing the current squad time to develop. Walcott said.

The former England international acknowledged that winning trophies remains important but argued that reaching the top level of English football is already a significant achievement.
It’s not just about trophies. Yes, it’s great to win trophies but not many players win anything.
Walcott also urged Arsenal supporters to remain patient, stressing that competition in the Premier League has become increasingly difficult. He concluded saying:
Patience is the key. With it the trophies will come.
