Villarreal have announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, with the former Arsenal and Atlético Madrid player set to begin training with the Yellow Submarine this week, amidst legal charges, Softfootball confirms.
Although with legal charges hovering round the former Arsenal player in England over sexual harassment, Villarreal have reacted to stand with the player during his trial period.

However, Villareal share an official statement via their verified X Handle about their agreement with Thomas Partey.
They twitted saying:

Villarreal used the announcement to reaffirm their commitment to inclusion, stating they don’t condone any form of violence. Partey will begin working with the team immediately as preparations intensify for the new LaLiga season. No contract details were disclosed.
Partey, 32, joins as a free agent following his departure from Arsenal and adds experience, athleticism and ball-winning ability to Marcelino’s midfield options.
The Ghana international is expected to slot into a central role, bringing both defensive steel and line-breaking runs to a side that finished eighth in LaLiga last season.
