Softfootball can confirm UEFA have fined Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and imposed a suspended ban on the sale of away tickets following racist behaviour by supporters during their Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The incident occurred at Deutsche Bank Park on January 28, when Spurs secured a 2-0 victory. UEFA confirmed the sanction was issued for “the racist and/or discriminatory behaviour of its supporters,” with the away ticket ban suspended for a probationary period of one year.

Tottenham were fined £26,000 (€30,000) for the discriminatory conduct, in addition to £1,966 (€2,250) for objects thrown by supporters during the match.

In a statement posted via their official X handle, Spurs confirmed that three individuals responsible for making Nazi salutes towards Frankfurt fans have been identified and handed indefinite bans under the club’s sanctions policy.

their statement:

The Club has been informed of sanctions handed down to us by UEFA following the utterly abhorrent conduct of a small number of individuals at our recent Champions League away match in Frankfurt. The Club has cooperated fully with UEFA’s investigation, as well as with German police on the night and, subsequently, the Met Police.

We can confirm that all three individuals found to be making Nazi salutes towards Eintracht Frankfurt fans have been identified and have received indefinite bans under the Club’s Sanctions and Banning Policy. T

he Club stands firmly against all forms of discrimination and has therefore taken the strongest possible action. The disgusting behaviour of a minority of so-called fans on the night is in no way reflective of the values of our Club and its supporters.

Tottenham stressed that the actions of a minority do not reflect the values of the club or its wider fanbase.

This development follows the club’s confirmation of the signing of Conor Gallagher from Atlético Madrid on January 14, 2026, subject to international clearance.

Elsewhere, Chelsea F.C. head coach Liam Rosenior confirmed on March 2, 2026, that Cole Palmer is “absolutely fine” and available to start against Aston Villa F.C. on Wednesday.
