Tottenham Eye New Boss as Postecoglou’s Future Uncertain

Louis Saha has identified a potential successor for Ange Postecoglou if the Tottenham manager is shown the door. Despite Tottenham’s poor form and early cup exits, the club’s hierarchy has stood by the Australian, but speculation about his future is mounting.

Postecoglou’s debut season has been challenging, with Spurs crashing out of both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup within days.

Their Premier League campaign has also faltered, leaving them 14th with only eight wins from 24 matches—results that would typically prompt a managerial change.

While Postecoglou had high hopes of delivering silverware, Tottenham’s struggles have left them clinging to Europa League aspirations, though injuries and inconsistent performances make that a tall order.

Should Spurs opt for a fresh start, Saha believes Marco Silva could be their target. The Fulham manager has impressed, leading his side to Premier League stability and a top-half finish.

Saha, who represented both Fulham and Tottenham during his playing career, hopes Silva remains at Craven Cottage but acknowledges the lure of a bigger club.

“Silva has transformed Fulham, sticking to his philosophy and improving players,” Saha told Paddy Power. “He wasn’t achieving this at his previous clubs, but he’s built something special at Fulham. Tottenham may try to lure him, but I’d love to see him stay and push Fulham into European contention.”

Tottenham, reeling from back-to-back cup defeats against Liverpool and Aston Villa, now turn their attention to a crucial Premier League clash against Manchester United. Postecoglou remains defiant, emphasizing his team’s resilience amid an injury crisis.

“We’ve had two and a half months of playing twice a week,” Postecoglou said after Spurs’ FA Cup exit. “The players need a reset, and getting some back from injury will help. Europe is still a key target for us.”

With Tottenham’s season at a crossroads, their performance in the coming weeks could determine whether Postecoglou is given more time—or if Silva becomes a serious candidate for the job.
