Vancouver Whitecaps Unveil Thomas Müller in Style Following Bayern Departure

After exiting German champions Bayern Munich, Thomas Muller has now joined Canadian side Vancouver Whitecaps. Softftootball reported how Muller was sent forth by Munich on his last day with the Bundesliga team.

Muller spent 25 years with the Bavarians. He started his career at the club at age 16 with the Bayern Munich II where he netted 16 times in 35 appearances. He then got promoted to the first team  at age 18.

Muller played lots of matches for Bayern Munich and scored 150 goals. He won multiple trophies for Bayern including UEFA Champions League and German Bundesliga.

His Bayern fairytale story came to an end when the club decided to part ways with him. It was reported that the German international would considered retiring but he has since found a new love in Canada.

The striker was signed up by MLS side, Vancouver Whitecaps. Muller joins up with veterans who are rounding up their careers in the MLS with the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and recently new buy of Inter Miami, Rodrigo De Paul.

The striker was officially unveiled by the Vancouver Whitecaps in a thrilling video posted on their verified X handle.

The 36 year old signed a two year deal with the Canadian side and will be hoping to have some influence on the team in MLS. The 2014 World Cup winner becomes Whitecaps’ most significant signing in club history.

According to Transfermarkt, it was revealed that even though he is 35, Müller, together with Fredy Montero, is the player with the highest market value ever signed by the club.

The German saw his market value peak back in 2016 when he hit €75m. The Whitecaps have never before signed a player who has had a market value this high at any point in his career. 

Thomas left Bayern as the leading appearance record maker with his 756 matches played. he will add more numbers to that with his Whitecaps jersey.
