Liam Rosenior has admitted Chelsea must urgently address their growing red card problem following the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal F.C. on March 1, 2026.
Speaking in comments shared by journalist Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, the Chelsea F.C. head coach said:
I don’t speak about what happened before my time at Chelsea but it’s starting to happen with me. That’s something I felt we had addressed, we went 10 games without a red card, now two in two games and that’s a problem we need to solve…

Softfootball reported that Arsenal secured a hard-fought victory to continue their dominance in this season’s meetings and maintain momentum in the Premier League title race.
Despite not playing their most fluent football, Mikel Arteta’s side collected a crucial three points underlining that title challenges are often defined by results rather than performances, much like Manchester City F.C.’s recent narrow win.
A major turning point came in the 70th minute when Pedro Neto received a second yellow card, reducing Chelsea to ten men.
Surprisingly, Arsenal struggled to assert control late on, allowing the visitors to push forward and create tension in the closing stages. There is a strong argument Chelsea might have found an equaliser had they remained at full strength.

Manchester United F.C. also delivered what many are calling their best performance in years, defeating Crystal Palace F.C. 2-1 at Old Trafford.
United fell behind in the fourth minute when Maxence Lacroix scored, assisted by Brennan Johnson. Palace carried a 1-0 lead into halftime despite early bookings for Daichi Kamada and Diogo Dalot.
The match shifted after the break when goalkeeper Dean Henderson was booked before Lacroix received a straight red card in the 56th minute, conceding a penalty.

Bruno Fernandes converted to level the score, then assisted Benjamin Šeško for the winner around the 65th minute. Ayden Heaven picked up a late booking, but United held on to seal a dramatic comeback victory.
