Fans of Real Madrid were not impressed by their team after the Match-Day 17 of LaLiga, Softfootball reports.

Real Madrid defeated Alaves 2-1 away from home courtesy goals from in-form forward Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian winger Rodrygo while Carlos Vicente got the goal for the home side. After the match, Real Madrid shared the results with their fans via their official X handle and while they were happy with the three points, they also expressed disappointment with the team’s performance.

After Real Madrid lost 2-1 to Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League Match-Day 6, the fans expected more from their side and did not hold back as they aired their views.

Writing in the comment session, @JinaduMichealO said a better opponent would’ve defeated Real Madrid. He said:

Well we did it, but barely! It was almost The City Game again, but we managed to salvage it at the end. If Alaves were a better side we’d have lost, as they’d have troubled us more. Don’t know why we relaxed after going ahead and allowed them to get back into the game.

Not a convincing performance but at least managed to scoop the 3 points. Now focus is on the next fixture. Xabi has a long way to go with these lads.

@EdenFidelity added:

Not a top standard performance, though it’s good we secured the 3 points. Thanks to Mbappe for getting the first goal and Rodrygo for making it 1-2, a goal that happens to be his first La Liga goal since 19th January.
Alonso should never again frustrate Rodrygo.

@Sibu_Excel expressed his feelings with a simple graphic edit. See below.

@kwame_evans1 simply saw the win as a tribute to Santiago Bernabéu. He said:

Seventy-eight years ago, the Santiago Bernabéu was born—not just as a stadium, but as a home of dreams. Named after Santiago Bernabéu, the man who turned Real Madrid into a global giant, it became a place where belief lives louder than fear. Generations of fans have watched legends rise there, miracles unfold, and nights when defeat was refused simply because Madrid never stops believing. Seeing Real Madrid win today is special because victories at the Bernabéu are never just wins—they are reminders of history, pride, and the spirit of Hasta el final. On this 78th birthday, This feel like the perfect tribute: honoring the past, celebrating the present, and reminding the world that at the Bernabéu, greatness is tradition. 🤍⚽

@Lilvizzynation termed the display of Real Madrid a ‘disgrace’ but happy with the win. He said:

Nice win but the gameplay was a disgrace, this players don’t want the coach, they miss a strong captain, you guys are starting to disgrace we the fans, we have become a laughing stock, we have the players but they refuse to play

Real Madrid will return to action on Wednesday when they they on Talavera in the Copa del Rey round of 32 before playing their final game of the year against Sevilla on Saturday, December 20.
