RB Leipzig have reportedly dropped their asking price for Benjamin Sesko, handing Arsenal a boost in their bid to sign a new centre forward ahead of the 2025–26 season.
The Gunners are actively exploring striker options, having already held talks with Sporting CP for Viktor Gyokeres. Their initial offer of €55 million (£46.8m) plus €10 million (£8.5m) in add-ons for the Swedish forward was rejected, and negotiations remain tense.
Gyokeres is now pushing for an exit, believing Sporting have gone back on promises regarding his transfer fee.

Sesko, meanwhile, is believed to be Mikel Arteta’s preferred option. Earlier this month, Leipzig were said to be demanding between €80m and €100m (£68m–£85m) for the Slovenian striker. However, Bild now reports that the Bundesliga club have scaled back their demands, with €70 million (£59.7m) seen as a more realistic figure.
Despite the price drop, Arsenal are yet to make a formal offer for Sesko. The striker’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, recently stressed they will not force a transfer. “We respect RB Leipzig and won’t pressure the club. The way you leave matters—it reflects your values,” he said.
Sesko’s stance is in contrast to Gyokeres, whose camp is reportedly frustrated with Sporting’s handling of the situation. While both strikers remain on Arsenal’s radar, Sesko’s calm approach and Leipzig’s revised valuation may give him the edge in the race to lead the Gunners’ title push.
As the summer window unfolds, Arsenal are expected to act decisively as they continue reshaping their attack for a renewed Premier League challenge.
