Rashford Swap Deal in Talks as United Target Napoli Star

Manchester United are reportedly negotiating with Napoli over a potential swap deal involving Marcus Rashford and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Rashford recently revealed his desire to leave Old Trafford in search of a “new challenge.”

His agent and brother, Dwaine Maynard, traveled to Italy this week for discussions with AC Milan, who are exploring a loan deal with an option to buy. However, United insists any move must cover over half of Rashford’s £325,000-a-week wages.

Seeking reinforcements, United are also eyeing Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian winger, who joined Napoli in 2022 for €10m (£8.6m), has been a standout performer. Despite ongoing contract negotiations, no agreement has been reached, with Kvaratskhelia’s representatives pushing for an €80m (£67m) release clause.

Paris Saint-Germain, who attempted to sign Kvaratskhelia last summer, have rekindled their interest. Unlike before, Napoli is now open to selling, dropping the Georgian star’s valuation from over €100m (£85m) last year. PSG are eager to add attacking depth, anticipating Randal Kolo Muani’s exit this month.

The French forward, who joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt for €75m (£64.2m) plus add-ons, has struggled under Luis Enrique, starting just two games this season. Tottenham and Juventus are also vying for his signature.

Meanwhile, Napoli is in talks with Chelsea over a permanent deal for 21-year-old midfielder Cesare Casadei. Rashford’s departure could lead to a major shakeup, but it’s clear United and PSG are in fierce competition for Kvaratskhelia.
