Softfootball understands that former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been left out of AS Monaco’s Champions League squad following his recent injury setbacks. The French midfielder, who signed a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 side, is still working his way back to full fitness, according to a report by RMC Sport.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his official x handle stated that:
Paul Pogba has been excluded from AS Monaco Champions League squad, as RMC Sport reports. Director Thiago Scuro: “Medical staff is focussed on finding solutions, first so that he returns to the field before the matches. Paul continues to recover from his calf injury”.
AS Monaco director Thiago Scuro provided an update on Pogba’s condition, stressing that the club’s medical staff are prioritizing his recovery and their focus remains on finding solutions to help Pogba return to the pitch before competitive matches resume, as he continues to recover from a calf injury.

The setback adds to a challenging period for Pogba, who had already endured injury issues last year after sustaining a minor knock caused by twisting his ankle during training. Monaco remain cautious with his rehabilitation, opting not to rush him back into action.
In other news, Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to training with Al Nassr amid ongoing frustration surrounding his future at the club, following reports of unresolved issues and transfer uncertainty. Ronaldo who has been making a series of demands before returning to competitive action made it known that if those changes are not implemented, then he is prepared not to feature in matches.
