Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes the Gunners lack the squad depth needed to keep pace with Liverpool in the Premier League title race, Softfootball reports.

Petit argued that injuries to influential players such as Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard have exposed Arsenal’s limitations, making it difficult for Mikel Arteta’s side to maintain consistency throughout the campaign.

The 1998 World Cup winner acknowledged that Arsenal possess a talented starting lineup but insisted their substitutes cannot match the quality and impact available to Liverpool.

Petit also pointed to Arsenal’s slow start to the season, suggesting that avoidable mistakes, dropped points and unnecessary red cards have hurt their title ambitions.

According to the Frenchman, losing two of the team’s most important players has made Arsenal’s task even more challenging, especially against rivals with greater depth across the squad.

Despite backing Arsenal’s overall quality, Petit believes Liverpool’s stronger bench gives the league leaders a significant advantage as the race for the Premier League crown intensifies during the second half of the season.
