Former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro believes Samuel Chukwueze will flourish under AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca, despite a slow start to life at the club since his move from Villarreal.
The Nigerian winger has struggled to consistently make an impact since arriving in Italy last summer, managing six goals and four assists across 56 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri.
Softfootball gathers that Peseiro shared his confidence in Chukwueze’s ability to improve under his current manager during an interview with Sportitalia. He said:
Two excellent players. I trained one, Chukwueze, in the Nigerian national team, and the other, Rafael Leao, I would have loved to have at Sporting.
Extraordinary players, with great quality and potential to grow even further.
Peseiro was confident that Fonseca’s coaching would help unlock more consistent performances from the pacey winger going forward, adding that both players possess the raw talent needed to reach an even higher level.
