Barcelona midfielder, Pedri is out of the club’s training today after suffering a muscle injury during the El Clasico at the weekend, Softfootball reports.

The Spanish international got a red late in the game as he tried to stop a counter-attack but Real Madrid still ran out with a 2-1 win over Barcelona to remain top of LaLiga with 27 points, five points more than second placed Barcelona.

According to football expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Pedri was not part of Barcelona’s training this morning. He wrote:

Barcelona midfielder Pedri suffers muscle injury and will be assessed by the staff. He’s not training with the team today, per RAC1.

Pedri has been one of the standout players for Barcelona since he broke through from the famous La Masia. He is also a vital part of the Spain national team and they would hope his injury is not long-term as they prepare for the November international window.

Barcelona will return to action in LaLiga against Elche on Sunday as they try to close the gap on Real Madrid.
