Paul Pogba could continue his football career in Major League Soccer, with several clubs in the United States reportedly monitoring the French midfielder following his departure from AS Monaco.
The 2018 World Cup winner is searching for his next opportunity after a difficult period in his career, which included a doping ban and an unsuccessful attempt to rebuild his form following his return to competitive football with Monaco.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, MLS has emerged as a potential destination for the 33-year-old, who is keen to find a new club and resume his career. Several American franchises have reportedly been linked with the midfielder, although no concrete agreement has been reached.
Pogba’s departure from Monaco followed discussions over the termination of his contract. In August 2026, the Ligue 1 club reportedly offered to end the agreement by mutual consent, with the intention of giving him sufficient time to find another team.
French publications Nice-Matin and Le Parisien reported that Monaco had communicated the proposal to Pogba’s representatives and wanted the arrangement completed before September 1.
The midfielder subsequently became a free agent, leaving him able to consider opportunities outside France without a transfer fee being negotiated between clubs.
Interest from the United States is not entirely new. According to the Daily Mail, Pogba has previously held talks with DC United, while Inter Miami, the club featuring Argentine superstar Lionel Messi and co-owned by David Beckham, has also been linked with the French international.

New York City FC has reportedly emerged as another possible destination, with speculation suggesting that Pogba could consider beginning a new chapter in New York.
However, despite the growing list of potential destinations, the report states that the midfielder has not yet held concrete negotiations with any prospective new club. His next move therefore remains uncertain.
Pogba enjoyed some of the biggest moments of his career at Juventus and Manchester United, establishing himself as one of the most recognisable midfielders of his generation. He was also a key member of France’s squad that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
His career subsequently suffered a major setback after he received a doping suspension, which interrupted his playing time and complicated his efforts to return to his previous level.
A move to MLS could offer Pogba an opportunity to rebuild his career in a different environment, although his eventual destination will depend on the interest of individual clubs and the terms available.
For now, several American teams are reportedly monitoring his situation, but no deal has been confirmed as the former Manchester United midfielder considers the next step in his career.
