Osimhen opened the scoring after just three minutes, rising highest to head home a superb cross from Lucas Torreira and give Galatasaray the perfect start.

Samsunspor fought back after the interval, with Olivier Ntcham converting a penalty in the 55th minute to restore parity.

Galatasaray responded almost immediately as Osimhen struck again five minutes later, restoring his side’s advantage with his second goal of the afternoon.

The Nigerian forward has now recorded eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances for Okan Buruk’s side across all competitions, underlining his outstanding impact since arriving in Turkey.

Osimhen’s afternoon ended seven minutes from time when he was replaced by Hakim Ziyech.

Substitute Michy Batshuayi extended Galatasaray’s lead in the 85th minute before Youssef Bennasser grabbed a late consolation for Samsunspor in stoppage time.

The victory strengthens Galatasaray’s position in the Turkish Super Lig as Osimhen continues to establish himself as one of the league’s standout performers.
