Former Beşiktaş star Sergen Yalçın has described Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as a more dependable goalscorer than Fenerbahçe forward Youssef En-Nesyri, softfootball reports.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli during the summer transfer window, has enjoyed an impressive start to life in the Turkish Super Lig, scoring four goals so far this season.
The Nigerian striker was also on target as Galatasaray secured a 2-1 victory over fierce rivals Beşiktaş in last week’s league derby.
Speaking to Ekol TV, as reported by Haber Sarı Kırmızı, Yalçın praised Osimhen’s consistency in front of goal and insisted the striker is the type of player clubs can rely on to deliver when it matters most.
According to the former Beşiktaş forward, investing heavily in a striker like En-Nesyri does not automatically guarantee goals or success. He argued that Osimhen is a proven match-winner capable of justifying the confidence placed in him through his performances and goal-scoring ability.
Yalçın also suggested that Fenerbahçe still have significant issues to address in the centre-forward position. He believes the club needs a reliable striker who can consistently lead the attack and make the difference in crucial matches, stressing that such a signing should be made without hesitation.
