Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi is on the verge of becoming an Olympiacos player after successfully completing his medical ahead of the transfer.

Softfootball understands that the Nigerian international defender is expected to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Greek champions on Monday, bringing an end to his impressive spell at Portuguese club Boavista.

Olympiacos have agreed to pay approximately €2.5 million for the 25-year-old, whose performances have attracted attention despite Boavista’s difficult campaign.

Onyemaechi has enjoyed an excellent season, contributing three goals and one assist in 18 league appearances while consistently impressing with his attacking runs and defensive reliability for the club.

The left-back initially joined Boavista on loan from CD Feirense in 2022 before making the move permanent the following year.

Olympiacos view Onyemaechi as an important addition to strengthen their defensive options as they continue competing for domestic honours and European football.
